Important : If you have linked the PAN with Aadhaar recently, it might take up to 7 working days, for to be updated in Income Tax records and you may allow this time to get your PAN linked to Aadhaar successfully. You may check the status of linking here. Please note that, it might take time to update the status at Exchange level, even if it shows 'Linked' in the Income Tax Website.

Linking your PAN with Aadhaar is mandatory from 1/7/2023 to keep your Trading Account active.  SEBI has directed the intermediaries to suspend the Trading accounts for which Aadhar is not linked to PAN by 30/6/2023

How to Link PAN with Aadhaar

Both registered and unregistered users can link the PAN and Aadhaar on the e-filing portal. To know how to link READ HERE

The following categories are exempted to

1) Non Resident Indians as per the Income Tax Act, 1961

2) Individuals residing in states of Assam, Jammu & Kashmir and Meghalaya

3) Individuals of age 80 years or more at the time during the previous year or

4) not a citizen of India
