A cover order offers highest leverage among other type of orders. This is possible because of the fact that you enter a position along with a stop loss. This benefit usually servers intra-day traders. Cover orders gives you more leverage than MIS  (intra-day) product type and you will require 50% less margin for trading. 


only select stocks have been enabled for trading under the Cover Order product (C.O). Only those stocks, which meet the criteria on liquidity and volume have been enabled for trading under the Cover Order product (C.O).

  • For Equity Segment cover order type (CO) is available for all Stocks available in F&O segment.

  • For  Future segment cover order type (CO) is available for Nifty Index futures (NIFTY, CNX IT Index and Bank Nifty) and  Nifty Index futures (NIFTY, CNX IT Index and Bank Nifty) and Stock Futures ( All Future stocks) 

  • For Commodity Segment cover order type (CO) is available for all commodities


Margin Requirement for Cover orders

  • Equity Segment - 3% 
  • Futures - 3 %
  • Commodity Segment - SPAN/5

To place a cover order, open regular order form fro Buy or sell. Choose CO from the Complexity dropdown menu and you will see that you can enter values for just Quantity and Trigger price.




Enter a value with in the range provided beneath the field and click on buy/sell. 


The order will be placed and can be viewed in your order book. 


As long as the status of your order is 'Trigger Pending' you can modify the order by change the quantity or trigger price. 



You can also exit the order during this time. Once the order is executed the order status becomes 'completed'.
